Limanakia Hersonissou refers to a series of small, sheltered coves located near the cape of Sarandaris, just west of the main Hersonissos resort. These coves are shielded from the prevailing northern winds by the cape, resulting in exceptionally calm and crystal-clear water that is ideal for diving and snorkelling. The surrounding limestone cliffs create a dramatic backdrop, and some of the coves contain small caves that can be explored at low tide. The beaches are composed of a mix of sand and pebbles, and while some have basic facilities, others remain entirely unorganised, offering a more natural and secluded experience. The water clarity here is outstanding, and the rocky seabed supports a diverse range of marine life, making it a popular destination for underwater photography. The coves are accessible by a short walk from the main Hersonissos resort or by small boat from the harbour. Free parking is available near the coves, though spaces are limited during peak season. The combination of dramatic scenery, exceptional water clarity, and relative tranquillity makes Limanakia Hersonissou one of the most rewarding beach destinations in the Hersonissos area.
